The Streak Versus The Streak

Ben Roethlisberger: Undefeated as a starter (14-0)

Tom Brady: Undefeated as a starter in the postseason (7-0)

My only prediction - One of these streaks will end on Sunday.

I was wondering when you were gonna post. Thought you might have had a heart attack after Saturday's game.

I think we can win it, but the kid has to show up and play. We'll shut down the former Bungle who was absent for the whoopin. Curtis martin is a better back and he had less than 70 on us in the game from hell.

They will be tight on the run game but we have the advantage of 4 recievers that are worth a damn on a four out spread. Indy didn't have that. With their coverage destroyed with injury we could have a field day with light coverage on Lee Mays and Randle El if the double Plax. Considering Duce had 127 on them the last time and the Bus had 50 if they can keep similar numbers we'll be set. I wish we had a back with solid catching hands or a healthy TE though. It would help a lot. Willie Parker is fast as all hell but can't catch to save his life. It all depends on the kid though.

If he plays like he did on Saturday, we're done for.

I just wish he would take that damn glove of his throwing hand.

Yeah. I was out at the beach. Watched the game with a couple of other Steeler fans (and one Browns backer who lent support), and went through about 100 heart attacks for sure.

The glove doesn't bother me. He threw for over 300 with it against the Giants and used it in college. I just think he was trying to do too much and made some bad reads.

I think they need to take advantage of Plax and Lee's height against the Patriots secondary. And pound the gut with draws and traps.

On D, I think the key is mixing up blitzes. Corner and Saftey blitzes tend to work best against Brady. The key will be getting there fast enough to prevent Brady from finding the LB in coverage mismatch.

The game should be a good one. I'm unplugging the phone and turning off the cell.

This will be the 5th AFC Championship game I'll have watched under Bill Cowher's guidance. Many point to his 1-3 record going into Sunday's game as a reason to question Bill's ability as a coach. A coach's job is to put his team is a position to win. But in the end, it's the players who need to execute on the field. Bill has now put his team in a position to play for the AFC spot in the Super Bowl neary 40% of his career (5 out of 13 seasons). I think that's pretty damn good.
